Welcome to the VTCT Level 3 Award in Applying hot & cold techniques for sport & active leisure course.

As part of this course, you are required to:

  • Attend ALL of the planned practical training days
  • Complete the online theory
  • Complete all the coursework (provided in this online theory)
  • Complete a minimum of 4 treatments as case studies
  • Attend 2 assessments (part of your planned practical dates)

The VTCT Level 3 Award in Applying Hot and

Cold Techniques in Sport and Active Leisure is a

qualification that has been designed to develop

the skills, knowledge and understanding you

will need to apply hot and cold techniques to

prevent and manage injury in sport and active

leisure. This qualification may also be used as

continuing professional development (CPD) for

those working in the sport and active leisure

industry.

In this qualification you will develop your

knowledge and understanding of the physical

and physiological effects of hot and cold,

indications and contraindications for hot and

cold techniques and related health, safety

and hygiene. You will also develop the skills

and techniques needed to devise appropriate

hot and cold strategies for clients, including

evaluation and thorough record keeping.

Units in this qualification have been mapped

to the relevant NOS (where applicable). This

qualification is regulated on the Regulated

Qualifications Framework.

This qualification is approved and supported by

SkillsActive, the sector skills council for active

leisure and learning.


On completion of the course you will be awarded VTCT qualification.
